Blue Canyon – currently unavailable
Due to the current Kauri Dieback Management Plan the tracks to the canyon were closed in 2018 and are still closed therefore we are unable to operate in the Blue canyon at this time.
The Blue Canyon is situated in a rugged and hilly part of the rain forest, of volcanic origin. For the most part it is densely clad in native forest, to the west; the ranges are bordered by the Tasman Sea, in a series of high sea cliffs and wild beaches. The Blue Canyon trip takes you to the heart of the Waitakere Ranges. You will get to experience New Zealand’s beautiful native forest, and have the opportunity to see our native wildlife.
From the word go we will have you jumping into deep dark pools – The first half of the canyon is a great warm up with a variety of jumps and water slides. After the spectacular Jurassic Park abseil it’s time for lunch. The second half of the trip has bigger jumps, slides and abseils. The Blue canyon is something not to be missed; it’s a great day out that will definitely impress you.
A good level of fitness is required for this trip due to its remote location, it is a 45 minute uphill walk in and out of the canyon. Make your trip as easy or as challenging as you wish, the big jumps and slides are optional and you can control your own descent while abseiling or be lowered by a guide if you’d prefer.
